Nature reserve Braakman South
Philippine, Zeelandic Flanders, Zeeland, the Netherlands.
Originally the Braakman was a large tidal inlet in the middle of Zeelandic Flanders. Later it has shrunk to a remnant due to successive empolderings. It was finally closed off from the sea in 1952. In Braakman south, a new nature reserve area is now developing due to reverse allocation of farmland to go back to wilderness.
