The monumental main building of Antwerp Central railway station (also called Middenstatie) was designed by the Bruges architect L. Delacenserie. It has a huge dome and eight smaller towers of which six were demolished during the 1950s. Fortunately, these were reconstructed in 2009.

The original 87 meter high Antwerp Tower on the Keyserlei , built in 1974 is completely stripped and will be renovated. It will become a multifunctional building with a shopping center, parking garages, appartments and penthouses. When the tower is ready by december 2020, it will be 100,7 meter high. The design of the new building is by architectural firm Wiel Arets
