Ballum, Ameland-airport, the Netherlands. 12 Jul. 2022. Photo story: A patient on Ameland (island in the Wadden Sea) is referred by the GP to the hospital on the mainland. An ambulance picks her up and takes her to Ameland airport near Ballum, where a ANWB trauma helicopter is waiting. Aided by ambulance personnel and a trainee general practitioner, the patient is transferred from the ambulance stretcher to a helicopter stretcher and taken to the helicopter. Fotoverhaal: Een patiente op Ameland (eiland in de waddenzee) wordt door de huisartsenpost verwezen naar het ziekenhuis op het vasteland. Een abulance haalt haar op en brengt haar naar het vliegveld van Ameland nabij Ballum, waar een ANWB traumahelicopter klaarstaat. Geholpen door ambulancepersoneel en een huisarts-in-opleiding wordt de patiente overgeplaatst van de ambulance-brancard op een helicopter-brancard en naar de helicopter gebracht.
